Where to Put Your Savings in 2026: 7 Options Compared with Real Data

With ECB rates falling, savings options are changing. We compare the 7 best alternatives in 2026 with real data: savings accounts, deposits, Treasury Bills, money market funds, Raisin and crowdlending.

With interest rates falling in the Eurozone, where to put your savings in 2026 has become a more complex decision than in 2023-2024. Deposits no longer offer the 4-5% of two years ago, but very competitive options still exist. We compare 7 real alternatives with updated data.

1. Savings accounts: instant liquidity

Best options in 2026: N26 Instant Savings Metal (2.76% APY, no conditions), Revolut (2.27% APY, welcome promotion), MyInvestor Premium (2.10% APY, no conditions). Promotional accounts (Ibercaja Cuenta Vamos at 5.09%, Bankinter at 5.00%) require payroll direct deposit and apply only for the first year on limited amounts.

2. Fixed-term deposits: more yield, no liquidity

Best options: EVO Banco 12m at 2.85% APY (best Spanish deposit March 2026), Klarna Bank via Raisin 2y at 2.56% APY, Banca Progetto via Raisin 6m at 2.45% APY. Choose these when you have a defined time horizon and do not need the money before maturity.

3. Treasury Bills: maximum safety, no cap

Spanish Treasury Bills currently offer 2.08%–2.18% APY (3 to 12 months). Key advantage: unlimited Spanish Government guarantee — ideal for amounts over €100,000 that exceed the DGS limit. No tax withholding at source when buying directly on tesoro.es.

4. Money market funds: daily liquidity with good yield

MyInvestor Naranja Money Market at 2.75% APY and Fidelity Euro Cash Fund at ~2.9% APY offer ECB-linked returns with daily liquidity and no amount cap. Ideal alternative to savings accounts for large amounts. In Spain, transfers between registered investment funds are tax-deferred.

5. EU deposits via Raisin

Access deposits from banks across the EU from a single account, with each country DGS protection (up to €100,000). Current best: Klarna Bank and Younited Credit at 2.46% for 12 months.

6. Crowdlending: high yield, high risk

Mintos (up to 10.5%) and Bondora Go & Grow (6.00% fixed) offer returns far above deposits. But there is no capital guarantee and liquidity can be restricted in adverse conditions. Only suitable for investors with risk tolerance and as a complement, never a substitute for safe savings.

Which option to choose by profile

  • Emergency fund (1-3 months expenses): instant savings account — N26, Revolut or MyInvestor.
  • Short-term savings (<12 months): money market fund or Treasury Bills.
  • Medium-term savings (1-2 years): EVO Banco or Raisin deposit.
  • Amounts over €100,000: combine Treasury Bills (no cap guarantee) with money market funds.
